How to Apply
Is PLP Right for You?
If you’re looking for a college experience that combines academic challenge, real-world learning, and intentional leader development, and you want to be part of something larger than yourself, the President’s Leadership Program (PLP) may be the right fit.
Each year, approximately 400 incoming students join PLP. Some arrive with leadership experience, while others are just beginning to explore their potential. What they share is a willingness to step forward, challenge themselves and grow.
Applying to PLP
Applying is simple and built into your admission process. When completing the Common Application:
- Select “Yes” for the President’s Leadership Program (and/or Honors Program) in the Scholarships section
- Complete the required essay questions
- Schedule an admission interview (required for scholarship consideration)
Students are selected based on academic achievement and demonstrated leadership potential. Applications are reviewed holistically, with optional standardized test scores considered if submitted.
Deadlines & Notifications
To receive priority consideration for PLP scholarships, apply for admission by:
- November 15 (Early Decision) or
- December 1 (Early Action)
Complete your PLP essays and interview by December 15 for priority review. Students meeting this deadline will be notified by February 1.
The final deadline to apply and interview is February 15, with notification by April 1.
