Leadership Adventure
Start your CNU journey with a built-in community ready to make your experience unforgettable. Leadership Adventure is a signature, multi-day experience designed to welcome you into the CNU community and connect you with your PLP class. You’ll live on campus and take part in leadership sessions, team-building challenges, and outdoor activities, all while beginning to explore your own leadership style and potential.
Along the way, you’ll build strong relationships with your peers and upperclass student facilitators who guide your experience and help you navigate your transition to CNU. You’ll be placed in a small group, or “color cabin,” creating an immediate sense of community and belonging that carries into your first year and beyond.
Leadership Adventure is required for all incoming PLP students and is scheduled alongside your Setting Sail orientation session, giving you a seamless, engaging start to college life.

Common Questions
All PLP students must stay for the entire duration of Leadership Adventure unless otherwise approved by PLP staff prior to the event.
We believe the strongest way to build community is to bring people together. Therefore, all incoming PLP students are required to stay on campus during Leadership Adventure.
You will need everything on the Setting Sail packing list, but we also ask you to pack these things:
- Comfortable athletic clothing (shorts, T-shirts, etc.) is necessary. Dresses and skirts will not work!
- Sneakers and socks are necessary.
- It’s a good idea to be prepared for rain with a rain jacket or umbrella.
- Be prepared for the sun! Sunscreen is a must, but you may also want sunglasses or baseball caps.
- Water bottle
