Youth Research Council
What is the Youth Research Council?
The Youth Research Council (YRC) is a research collaborative and community-based experiential learning innovation dedicated to hearing the diverse voices and concerns of young people, particularly those in the Virginia Peninsula area, including Hampton and Newport News. The program's core goal is to empower high school students to identify and investigate issues they think are important in their communities.
Our Goal
CNU's Center for Education Research and Policy (CERP) will begin recruiting motivated students to participate in the YRC, which aims to teach high school students how to conduct social science research about pressing social issues and how to advocate for social change within their local and regional organizations, school districts, and government.
